SOLAR “SIGNS” Hit the Store :-)

Snow, Snow and More Snow!  Nothing like a tough winter to slow construction down!

This week, our friends at the sign company got our temporary sign installed (in the cold, wind and snow, thank you!) on the building as well as the proverbial “coming soon” signage.  Permits go into Pequannock next week for the sign approvals.  The sign looks great and features our main icon, the sun!  Check it out.  We’re the only solar store on Rt. 23 North in Pompton Plains, NJ, right next to the 23 Buffet Restaurant.

Inside workers are busy finishing the bathrooms.  Sheetrock and spackling are almost complete, then the fixtures will go in.  The retail design is pretty much set, and the electrical engineer is just about done with the plans to take to the town for electrical permits.  The heating system was completed and started up this week, so at least our friendly contractors are warm finally!

Our engineers are working on both the Solar PV (Electric) and Solar Thermal (Hot Water) live systems for the store.  We should go for permits for both systems within the next few weeks.  We’ll be featuring a solar domestic hot water and radiant heating system with monitoring software so our customers will be able to see the actual working components of this.  On the solar PV system, we’ll have software running to show the effectiveness of the system, and our customers will be able to see how much energy a good solar system can produce.

We’re signing off for this week with a good luck to our local NY JETS football team.  Is there a Superbowl for the JETS this year?  Let’s hope so.  By the way, the JETS installed solar on their practice facility in Florham Park.  They truly are GREEN!
